How do I get to Vanuatu from Australia?
Jetstar and Air Vanuatu fly direct from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Port Vila — around three hours from Brisbane, three and a half from Sydney. Port Vila's Bauerfield Airport is 10–20 minutes from the lagoon resorts. Australians don't need a visa for stays up to 30 days.
When is the best time to visit Vanuatu?
May to October is the dry season with sunny days in the mid-20s and cooler nights — the best time for diving, hiking and the volcano. November to April is warmer, wetter and more humid, with a cyclone risk from January to March, offset by lush scenery and lower rates.
Is Vanuatu good for families?
Yes — Port Vila's lagoon resorts have calm, shallow water, kids' clubs and easy access to blue holes, cascades and the turtle sanctuary, and the short flight from Brisbane makes it manageable with young children. Tanna's volcano is a highlight for older kids and teens.
Port Vila or Espiritu Santo?
